From Waterfront Views to Artistic Backdrops

If you’re newly engaged and starting to dream about your engagement photos, you’re in luck, Baltimore is full of incredible photo locations that range from romantic waterfronts to colorful murals, historic architecture, and lush parks. As a photographer who photographs in Baltimore frequently, I love helping couples find the perfect setting to reflect their story. Whether you’re after something timeless and elegant or fun and bold, here are some of my favorite Baltimore engagement photo spots to explore:

Fells Point

Fells Point is a classic for a reason. With cobblestone streets, waterfront views, colorful buildings, and unbeatable sunsets, it’s a fun and diverse location for engagement photos. Plus, there’s something romantic about the boats bobbing in the harbor and the warm glow of the streetlamps at golden hour. Pro tip: If you’re an early bird, sunrise here is even more magical—and way quieter!

Patterson Park

Especially beautiful in the spring when the cherry blossoms and tulips bloom, Patterson Park is a perfect blend of nature and city life. The iconic pagoda makes a striking backdrop, and nearby Canton streets add a little urban texture to your gallery. Bonus? BmoreLicks – Some of the best ice cream in Baltimore is just a short walk away—perfect for a sweet treat after your session.

Federal Hill Park

This is hands down one of my go-to spots for engagement sessions in the city. The skyline views from the top of the hill are amazing, and the park itself is free and super accessible. We can wander the surrounding Federal Hill neighborhood or stop by the American Visionary Art Museum for a more artistic vibe. It’s a perfect mix of nature, city, and charm.

Station North Arts District

For couples who love bold colors and a little edge, Station North is a creative dream. The murals here are always changing, which keeps things fresh and fun. It’s a great choice if you’re looking for a session that’s playful, unique, and full of personality. I love how spontaneous and colorful this neighborhood can be. Another plus, Penn Station is right aroudn the corner!

Mount Vernon

If your style leans more classic and romantic, Mount Vernon offers historic architecture, leafy parks, and timeless beauty. The elegant steps of the Washington Monument, ivy-covered walls, and stylish bars make it ideal for couples who want a sophisticated, editorial feel to their engagement photos.

Clipper Mill

This tucked-away spot has a beautifully industrial vibe that’s perfect for something a little moodier and textured. Think brick walls and rustic metal details. It’s also just around the corner from Artifact Coffee, which makes for a cozy add-on location (or a great place to grab a drink afterward!).

Artifact Coffee

This spot is warm, charming, and full of moody light, perfect if you’re already planning to shoot in Clipper Mill or heading to nearby locations like the Rawlings Conservatory. A heads-up: it can get very busy on weekends and around lunchtime, so planning a weekday session is best if you’d like a quieter vibe.

Rawlings Conservatory

This is a go-to location during the colder months, but it’s stunning year-round. The tropical and desert rooms offer dreamy light and a lush setting, no matter what the weather’s doing outside. Just note: they do require a permit, and the process can take a bit of time, so it’s best to start early. The fee is $150 for a one-hour session.

The Walters Art Museum

For a unique and refined backdrop, the Walters offers beautiful architecture and gallery spaces that are perfect for timeless photos. There’s no photography fee, but you do need to schedule in advance with the museum staff. It’s a great choice if you’re envisioning something elegant, artful, and a little unexpected.

No matter what vibe you’re going for—romantic, bold, classic, or a mix of everything—Baltimore has a spot that fits. As a Baltimore engagement photographer, I’m here to help you pick the perfect location and bring your vision to life. Ready to start planning your session? Let’s explore together!
